We had a great weekend competing (we use that word loosely) in the 24 Hours of LeMons race on July 26th, 2014.

Our 24 Hours of LeMons ‘Doing Time in Joliet’ recap by the numbers:

-There were 94 official entries, 37 of those cars were racing in Class B (ours included)

– We saw a checkered flag at midnight after racing 14 straight hours (last year we lasted 10 minutes)

– We came in 23rd place in our class. Not last. Woot!
- Our team: 4 drivers and 5 pit crew members including 2 mechanics
- We made 192 laps (last year we finished with -3 laps, yes that’s a negative)

– Our quickest lap was 2:05
- Number of penalties: 3
- Casualties included: 4 tires, 1 fuel filter, 1 catalytic converter, 1 fuel line, and only a smidge of dignity
- Number of times we were hit: 2

– Number of times we had to be towed off the track: 1

And our most important number: $9,400 was raised to further our mission of advancing research and treatment of pediatric brain tumors. Our deepest gratitude to our most generous sponsors.

Grateful thanks to Boost4 for partnering with us, to our awesome drivers (Ron, Keith, Carmen, and Larry), to our most generous sponsors, and to our pit crew including two amazing mechanics (Brian and Mike) who kept us on the track.

About Aidan’s Army

Ron and Kathleen Manning established the foundation in 2010 after losing their son, Aidan. Aidan went to heaven on July 30, 2010 as the result of Medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor, diagnosed in December 2009. He was only 3 years old. Aidan had touched and inspired so many during his short life and we promise that he will continue to have an impact on this world.
